By the end, you’ll have more time, energy, and space for what truly matters. Select one task per day for the next 30 days. The order does not matter.
Day 1: Go screen-free after 6 pm to be more present for your loved ones and improve your sleep quality. Instead of watching TV, checking email, or scrolling through social media. read a book, take a bath, or get organized for the next day.
Day 2: Do one load of laundry from start to finish. This is an easy way to prevent laundry from piling up and creating stress at home.
Day 3: Go through your book collection and donate any books you’ve already read, don’t intend to read, or never finished. This will help reduce clutter and make room for new books that you’ll actually enjoy.
Day 4: Keep your car tidy by removing anything that does not belong there, like coats, clothes, bags, and shoes, and give it a quick wipe down and air freshener.
Day 5: Create a morning ritual to give yourself time to relax before the day’s chaos begins. This could be anything from reading to preparing dinner ingredients.
Day 6: Purge five items from each closet and dresser by donating items in good condition to a local charity or shelter.
Day 7: Clean out your closet by setting a timer for 30 minutes and removing anything you haven’t worn recently. Implement a one-in, one-out rule when buying new clothes in the future.
Day 8: Choose 10 toys, kids’ books, or knick-knacks to donate. Look for duplicates, items that have been outgrown, or decor that you don’t feel attached to.
Day 9: Say no to commitments or opportunities that don’t bring you joy or feel like an obligation to create more time and space in your life.
Day 10: Don’t check email or social media until lunchtime. Use the most productive hours of your day to focus on your own tasks.
Day 11: Cancel unnecessary subscriptions and memberships to save money each month and put it into savings.
Day 12: Turn off non-essential notifications on your phone and only check email, voicemail, and social media feeds at designated times throughout the day.
Day 13: Declutter something digital, such as your phone or computer. Delete unwanted photos and apps, and organize your files into folders.
Day 14: Declutter your bathroom drawers by removing old makeup, skincare products, hair tools, and accessories and keep only what you use regularly.
Day 15: Write tomorrow’s to-do list before bed. This will help you mentally offload responsibilities and sleep better.
Day 16: Create a Box of Life for each family member to hold personal and sentimental items and regularly pare down its contents to only the truly meaningful items.
Day 17: Practice single-tasking by setting a timer and focusing on one thing at a time. Take 10-minute breaks between short periods of concentrated work.
Day 18: Establish a family donation box to encourage everyone to regularly contribute things they no longer want or need, and donate its contents when it gets full.
Day 19: Make time for relaxation by blocking out white space on your calendar and filling it in however you like.
Day 20: Pursue a new skill that interests you by finding a class online or locally and starting to learn.
Day 21: Visit your local library and download the mobile app to borrow digital and audiobooks for free.
Day 22: Save money and reduce your consumer footprint by borrowing, renting, or buying used items instead of always buying new ones.
Day 23: Spend time outdoors for at least 30 minutes a day to improve physical and mental health.
Day 24: Make meal planning easier by writing down your go-to meals and taping them to your fridge.
Day 25: Choose one flat surface you frequently use, such as a bedside table or desk, and declutter it. Find a permanent home for any items that don’t belong there.
Day 26: Start by walking through your home with a donation bag. This is a simple but effective way to declutter your living space and create more room.
Day 27: To make it more manageable, unsubscribe from emails that clutter your inbox for 10 minutes.
Day 28: Reset your home each night to prepare for the next day. Wash dishes, clean kitchen counters, vacuum the floor and prepare for the next day’s coffee and outfit.
Day 29: Create an inbox system for your papers. Invest in a few stacking or wall files and label them in a way that makes sense. Organize your papers by deadlines or individual, such as “This Week,” “This Month,” “Noah,” “Ines,” “Elle,” and “Rob.”
Day 30: Clear your kitchen counters by putting away appliances you don’t use daily and finding a home for anything that doesn’t belong there.
